My son was born 5 weeks early in a semi-emergency C-Section. He's doing very well, though still in the NCIU until he's well enough to come home, which will likely be at least a week.

He came home on Friday. So far so good. His APGARS were 9 & 9. He’s really well behaved. Super sweet, very active and (so far) pretty much only cries when he’s hungry or something changes.

We named him Gavin.

So, how you sleepin?

Don't worry - as bad as it may be now, in four months it gets bad again. And if you feel stressed and scatterbrained and near-comatose, just remember: you only have one, you wuss.

I'm actually doing pretty well. Kinda sleeping better than before. Sure I wake up every three to four hours to feed Gavin and that's a bitch, but all in all this is kinda better than my previous insomnia.

My wife is having a worse time of it, but that's because she was sleep deprived going in. She's been sleep deprived for years. Actually worries me a bit.

Gavin so far is a really good baby. He only cries when he's hungry or when we change him.
