People are assholes to artists alot of the time. It usually stems from envy and insecurity, even of the shitty ones.

The Tim Buckley hate is a little deserved though - from what I've heard he tried to solicit nudes from at least one underage female fan. Scott Kurtz and the folks behind Penny-Arcade hate him with a passion. The design of , the plagiaristic & egomaniacal writer Tycho has a rivalry with is based on him.
