Malpractices insurance is one problem. Especially since there's like - 4 companies in the whole US who provide it and there are whole States that they currently refuse to Insure. However another factor in rising healthcare costs is health insurance in general - which makes it a habit of underpaying or just straight up not paying whenever they think they can get away with it.
And then of course there's the fact that most people CAN'T pay when they do get sick so the unpaid debts pile up till Occupy buys them & cancels them.
Don't even get me started on Obamacare.
But the biggest factor in the cost is profit. The model we're running on now demands that hospitals turn a bigger and bigger profit every quarter. How do you turn a profit when most people can't pay and insurance won't pay\underpays? You raise the rates. Which causes insurance to go up - which causes people to be un\under insured - so you raise the rates. Which causes insurance to go up andohmyivegonecrosseyed
Which is reason #9728 to smash capitalism like a week old jack o lantern.
