I'll admit I'm old and still read Sluggy Freelance.

About the only thing I still read with any regularity is Gunnerkrigg.

I sneak in some McNinja and MSPA here or there. LFG has gotten really dumb, and most other comics are pretty meh.

Given how people react when catching up with MSPA is mentioned, isn't it something you have to follow religiously or not at all? :)

In any event, Gunnerkrigg remains one of my favourites. Sluggy I gave up on years ago (seems strange talking about a relatively new medium like that), when it seemed to turn from broadly funny strip to broadly plot-based strip and, perhaps because of the small number of characters, ended up being a bit of a soap opera. Agree about LFG, too; it's definitely gone off the boil.

I follow a few more webcomics, but I think Girl Genius, McNinja and Order of the Stick are the only other ones I'd really miss if they stopped. GG works for me because the Foglios already had the full plot in mind when they started, so the narrative always feels like it's moving forward. Aside from one early Sluggy publication, It's also the only one I currently have anything for in print.

I used to be a big fan of all things David Willis, but yeah, not so much anymore. At some point he metamorphosed from a pretty talented and dedicated web cartoonist who happened to hold liberal opinions that sometimes naturally surfaced in his work to some kind of webcomic Keith Olbermann.

Anyway, yes, Synk, I'd recommend giving GG a look. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it's high enough quality it's at least worth determining that for yourself. (And if you were a Phil & Dixie / Buck Godot / Myth Adventures fan, you'll almost certainly enjoy it.)

Go get a roomie is pretty good. The art work is incredibly polished but not at all stiff (it's a rare combination!). The story is ok, too.

Also, I follow No Scrying. It is pretty good. I didn't realize it was by the Elf Only Inn guy.

Sam, I'm going to come out and say that the only people who wouldn't find Gunnerkrigg to their tastes are people with no taste. That comic is amazing.
