It looks better visually than the last two. I hope they don't kill the villain at the end but instead just learn to get along.

It's directed by one of the Fast and Furious crowd, so lens flare won't obscure quite so much of the action, but I'm not anticipating very much except action. The more cerebral aspects of Trek that appear in the better films may not feature too prominently...

I figure we'll at least get some witty banter and decent Spock/McCoy moments, unlike the last movie which was a charmless void.

Fingers crossed. The reviews were so bad for the second one I didn't even go to the cinema to see it.

Yeah it looks like the trailer was trying to go really BRO and they're being stupid about their demographics but hopefully it will still be Star Trek?
