They look like an interesting bunch. A comic chronicling their adventures together in a topsy-turvy galaxy would be cool. :)

Left is a romulan, right is a weirdo.

It's just old-timey. Everyone in stage shows tends to stand at angles like that, so the audience can still see them when they talk to each other. You're spoiled by modern electric television.
