Dude, this system just came out in 2011, from a relatively tiny publisher. Don't worry, I don't just go through life assuming everyone else is always on my level.

ANYway, Zengus, you're in, and I apologize for not calling you out by name earlier.

Sorce, you're freaking out. Don't freak out. I'm glad you picked up the MHR game, but breathe. DEEEEEEEEEP. breeeeeeeaths. Okay. Distinctions and Milestones can be entirely created by the player. Your three distinctions could, if I theoretically allowed it, be "Unicorn Fucker, Raised by Jewish Lawyers, Hates The Sound Of Corn". But I'll get into the nitty gritty of the system when we move over to RPoL, where I'll teach everything together. Milestones are similarly created by the player OR you can pick/modify a Marvel one (because there are several hundred, and they're all well balanced), or Milestones can be determined by the Event itself. Ours will be a mix of both: you will have an Event Milestone I create, and one of your own.But I'll get into the nitty gritty of the system when we move over to RPoL, where I'll teach everything together. Knacks are basically Specialties, and in the Mass Effect Hack they can start at d6s. Sam, I am literally in the almost exact same boat as you which is why, Skittz, there is no RPoL board yet for this game. I'll be honest, it'll likely be a couple of weeks at the earliest before we start playing anything, but I can create the post sometime within that time and start familiarizing people with how play and posting will work. Hashing out your roles now is absolutely the best use of this time, and I can already say I'll approve the character types I've read so far (and so far, it's already pretty balanced! :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

So, uh, yeah, I guess I can say I've decided to ease us into RPoL and MHR with a BOBs-only Mass Effect Heroic Roleplaying game. Everyone who has posted in this thread so far is invited and welcome.

Gonna have to tweak some things in those race/class settings. I think they're more based on ME1 than anything else, and gameplay/stats have definitely changed and progressed since then.

Nah. I mean, we might do a couple tweaks, and honestly I don't mind a fair bit of customization for each player, but it's looking like the systems WE will end up using will be kind of a combination of the stuff I posted and the version 2.0 from the link that Sorce posted.

I've got the story brewing (it will start on Omega, so if you could account for that during character creation that would be a huej help), but I'm still thinking we're a few weeks out, so in the meantime let's do characters. Everyone interested please just post officially below and what you want to play, even if it's only a tentative list, so I can start paring down our story hooks and possibilities in design phase. This week of work is about the worst it could be, so hopefully things will settle down soon and we may even get to accelerate our start date.

oh, and cocks, vaginas, beertitties.

Hey hey, ripkat, I was just answer your questions in the first post.

I would probably play whatever 2 posts till dead rp but like in all seriousness marvel heroic roleplay is awful. I think nearly any other system would work better. It's not like you'll be using mechanics all that much other than as a gauge and for char gen. Why not just use M&M 3rd for example? Or if you do want to use actual mechanics and resolution systems why not pick something more suited for a PbP environment?
