Honestly, I love Kai's utterly selfless attitude, and the fact that he's still able to ask for a wetsuit & board. It's really charming and also sad considering how traumatic what happened really was, and the fact that he has no family.

The fact that he apparently has MORE THAN ONE anecdote where he's had to get violent with dudes to save people raises some red flags, and would ordinarily make me wonder if maybe it wasn't the DRIVER who was dangerous, unstable guy with the messianic complex after all... so I'm glad the witnesses have backed up this dude's story that the driver was apparently doing/yelling violent things.

I think the multiple violent incidences are more or less a hazard of the social circles he runs in, after all, apparently getting pinned/crushed between two large metal objects, to the point where if one is later moved you'll bleed out and die is a regular hazard he and everyone he knows is acquainted with.
