Don't feel like re-posting, so here's just a link to a Twitter thread where I talk about my feelings on last night's results.

(Extra thoughts: it frustrates the hell out of my that when given the chance to stand up and actually repudiate white nationalism, half the country failed to do so (or just refuse to see that it's even there.) Still focusing on the positive insomuch as: ok, now we're in a position to do something if Pelosi doesn't actually Pelosi for once, so now is when we put the pressure on and hopefully we get results?)

Yes. There's a vague chance we'll only chop £12bn or so off our economy if the not-very-good deal our Prime Minister has hammered out with the EU gets through Parliament, but it won't because politics which means either a disastrous no-deal exit or staying in, and despite public opinion having shifted quite firmly towards the latter, the Tories have nailed their flag very firmly to the departing mast, so depart we shall.

Also, destruction of public services due to unnecessary austerity for reasons of dogma rather than economics, yada yada. We don't have Trump as president, it's true, but there's still a lot more overt lying in public discourse than there used to be.

If determination is a factor, hopefully. But despite the relative popularity of recent anti-Brexit versus pro-Brexit demonstrations in London (as you may have seen, in excess of 650,000 people seeking a second referendum and 100 people opposing one) our Prime Minister appears to be one of the few with a will as strong as Steve's. Shame the same can't be said of her rationale.
