Interestingly, there was a time when people whose writing about current affairs characterised them as hacks would have been horrified to have seen grammatical errors in their copy.
On an unrelated note, Metallica are pretty cool. I enjoyed their fusion of metal and symphonic music on S&M a good deal.

Greed is a new media outlet currently owned by The Fifth Column and The Pontiac Tribune. Sadly, in today's day and age speed is valued over grammar, and most of the smaller new outlets can't afford copy editors.

Most of the bigger news organisations claim they can't afford copy editors these days, either. Gannett's UK arm, Newsquest, recently got rid of nearly all theirs.
