Just got back from an international Martial Arts tournament in Montreal. I took 1st in Kata, and 3rd in Semi-Knockdown Kumite. Won my second fight in 45 seconds by TKO: Knee Smash to the Solar Plexus. Guy crumbled.

Anyone else still doing martial arts?

Pretty much what Agent said. I haven't trained for about six years, now, and it rather shows. Will hopefully get back into it when the progeny is a little older, assuming I haven't surpassed the Chandrasekhar limit by then.

That's why I started training actually. I was getting fat and I have a wedding coming up. Also I think my poor physical state contributed to my depression and anxiety and an overall lack of energy.

I hadn't trained since 2008 - Now I'm planning to do it for the rest of my life. I want to have kids soon and I want them to grow up with a practicing black belt for a dad. I also want to live as long as possible and I'm not getting any younger so it's now or never.

Men in my family tend to get big later in life, and I'd rather avoid that genetic trap. My grandfather died of Liver Failure and had to have a heart transplant when he was in his late 50's or 60's.
