If America was sane, Hillary Clinton would be the Republican nominee, and someone like Bernie Sanders would be the Democratic one. That's what things would look like if America was really as moderate as we like to pretend we are.
I miss having elections where even if the person I liked didn't win, I could still say: "Oh well, the very nature of politics is about compromise. I can agree to disagree with the winner on those certain issues we disagree about," and just move forward.

The United States has been peacefully changing between ruling political parties longer than any other extant country. It's a very nice thing about the United States, and it is not something I would ever like to see change.

Are you telling me a list I found on Wikipedia was wrong or biased? I find that pretty hard to believe.
Anyway, you guys are a monarchy so I don't think that counts. Not because the UK isn't democratic, I just find monarchies abhorrent. That's why I think it's stupid when people threaten to move to Canada when someone they don't like gets elected here. No matter who it is at least it isn't a king.

I think the peaceful changeover thing is more that we've bloodlessly cycled through more parties than most other countries. Current top political parties (GOP and Democrats) are each two parties removed from the founding fathers' parties.

Ehh, Norway was always very far away. The Althing always held power because all politics are local.
