It's hit me a couple of times, and it's pretty bloody awful, I agree. Such as it is, my advice on this matter (particularly for those experiencing an inclination to isolate themselves from others) is to do the opposite, immediately, before it gets too bad. Speak to people, call helplines, make people aware there's a problem. That way, there's some support, rather than people saying afterwards, "I didn't even know there was a problem."

You don't notice it when it happens. It eases up to you. It's only when it's in the past that you realize how much of a problem you had.
At least that's how it was for me.
