"Gad subone's tadents were usefud, at deast," Iron Fist mutters, voice muffled by the blood in his nose. He takes a moment while he kneels to massages pressure points on his head that stem the flow*.

"I'm okay, Luke, although I'd best stay out of the publicity stills for a while," he calls wryly, knowing that even after his nose has healed, the prospect of friendly press relations is limited in the current climate.

Rising to his feet, Iron Fist enquires, "Anyone else take any lumps, or was I the only clumsy one today?"

* ((This actually works for regular nosebleeds -- I've stopped other people's with it myself -- and as we're talking superheroes, no reason it couldn't help with more serious bleeding, right? Right?))

((Hawkeye - 10XP Milestones are pretty big; for this story, to hit that Milestone you'll likely have to defeat the Dark Avengers and/or Norman himself, I'd count either one. But Tombstone, not so much I'm afraid. And Iron Fist has stopped bleeding!))

Tombstone winces at the arrow, and glares at Hawkeye...before his lips slide into a greasy grin, "It'll be more expensive than you even know, clown. You think you've done anything here?! This ain't nothin. You got nothin' out of this, 'cept a bigger target on your backs! "

Luke's brow somehow furrows even further. "Bullshit. We got a good tip this was a Hydra drop-off, and I don't see you walkin outta here with anything but new scars. Smells like victory to me, bitch."

Tombstone, however, bursts into a sadistic cackle. "Hahahaaaahaha...Hydra, that's rich. Ain't no Hydra here, buddy-pal. And a guy like me, each scar's just a new paycheck. Ain't got nothin' to lose. Not like the rest of you, eh? No friends, not much left, must be rough knowin you ain't no better than me now...tell me Luke, how's your daughter these days...?"

Luke overreacts. There will be no more answers from Tombstone tonight...

As Luke's hand pulls back, he feels a light pressure on his wrist -- not a restraint, just a suggestion.

"He's baiting you, Luke," Daniel says, removing his hand. "Don't give him the satisfaction. He loses tonight if we find out what's going on."

The living weapon of K'un L'un touches the bridge of his nose carefully, almost as if he's gently manipulating the cartilage within, before continuing, "Heaven knows I can understand the desire to take that swing. But we might benefit from a different approach."

"We should take this off the street, I say. Not a lot to be gained hanging out on the grid." Hawkeye gives a slant eyed look around the now mostly tied up henchmen. "Fists can get his face straight. These smaller turds are all bound to know something useful, even if they aren't supposed to, and I'll bet it would be a lot easier to make them talk if they wake up somewhere private. We should give the slip a quick check for any physical clues, and clear out to a safe house." He looks Tombstone in the eyes. "We still have to decide if we're going to let this sack of crap go, after all. And that's not a conversation to have in public."

((Yes, please. I'll continue with the flavour text, but Rand is using chi healing on his nose whenever he isn't speaking. I'm unclear on whether he can use Solo affiliation as he's healing himself, or is forced to use the lower Team die due to the presence of the other New Avengers, so I'll give you both. Solo d8 + Enhanced Stamina d8 + Mystic Expert d8 gives us 7, 8, 6 (15 + d8 effect, of course). With the d6 team, we have: 5, 3, 5, a less impressive 10 and the d8.))

"Agreed. Not that I need to tell anyone, but watch Tombstone when we move him -- I have a feeling he won't go too quietly. Cypher, can you warn us if he moves to try something?"

Tombstone has been grinning at the conversation around him, looking at each of the New Avengers in turn while occasionally flexing his injured hand, causing the adamantium arrow to wiggle ever so disconcertingly.

"Yeah, you guys should move me. You got all the time in the world," he winks at Luke Cage hovering over him. "I'm sure ol' Luke here has nothing he should be checking on, hrhrhr. ..."

Luke stands up, keeping a foot on Tombstone's stomach as he growls, "Yeah. Tie up the others and let's get 'em to the safehouse cross town. I'm sick o' lookin at this piece of shit, but if you guys think you can get some answers out of him let's get him trussed up too. 'Course, I'm just as fine rollin him into the water and letting God sort it out."

((Getting to the safehouse can be handled as a jump cut, so don't worry about having to plot out hiring a taxi while in costume or anything; we'll just say that you take to a pre-planned safe route through the drainage system. The main issue is whether to take Tombstone there with you, or just the Maggia men, and if so how many; anyone else can be ruled as being dropped off outside the local police station surreptitiously as all of these men are Wanted.))
